Taxiway B-3 closure

Hi everyone,

The taxiway project is moving along and you have probably noticed that the north half of the project has been paved almost up to the Aerofacilities/Epic taxiway, B-3.

Jack Robinson and Sons have made excellent progress and the paving company, Knife River, has been able to work their availability into JRS’s schedules so far.

The next available time slot for the paving crew is on Saturday, July 11 and JRS must have the section of parallel taxiway adjacent to Aerofacilities/Epic ready to pave or face up to a month delay before the paving crew is available again.

In light of those constraints JRS will be timing the next phase, connection of Aerofacilities/Epic to the new parallel taxiway, to coincide with paving availability.

Starting Tuesday, July 6, the existing Taxiway B-3 will be removed and excavation, sub-base and final grading will commence to be ready to pave on Saturday July 11. During this time it will not be possible to maintain
aircraft access of any kind to Aerofacilities or Epic.

If you need to utilize aircraft based on the East side during this time they will have to be moved to the West side of the field before July 6 or they will be “land locked” until Sunday July 12. At that time the new interconnect will be complete and aircraft using the Aerofacilities/Epic facilities will be the first to use the new “Taxiway B” by utilizing the north half of the new parallel taxiway to access the runway or cross over to the West side.

If you are in need of accessing your aircraft based on the East side during this time please let me know as soon as possible and we will assist in finding adequate storage for your aircraft.

There will also be runway closures during the period from July 6 to July 11 but as of yet that schedule has not been released.

Thank you,
