Whether you are an aviation enthusiast, or just looking for a great way to spend the Saturday of Father’s Day Weekend, start your summer off with a thrilling, fun-filled family festival at the Bend Airport, Saturday, June 19th, 2010! Come one, come all – and join us for the festivities, adventure, games, prizes, food and fun! It all happens from 8am to 2pm.
Start your morning at 8am with the Experimental Aircraft Association’s $5.00 Pancake Breakfast – featuring incredible vintage and modern aircraft, automobiles and motorcycles including:
Legendary 1933 Waco UBF-2 Bi-Plane featured in the “Raiders of the Lost Arc”!
One of the oldest and highest flight time aircraft of it’s type in the world, the Historic 1937 DC-3!
Also on scene will be industry-leading aircraft from Epic, Lancair and X-Air, which are all manufactured here in Central Oregon.
Café 3456 will host a $5 Barbecue Lunch & Beer Garden starting at 11 am. Entertain the kids with the Bouncing Off the Walls Bounce House, In Climb Climbing Wall, Silly Lilly Balloon Creations & Face Paint, a Wabi Sabi Kendama Competition, Professional Air Prize Wheel, Photos by Steve of your kids in the cockpit, and of course, Eberhard’s Ice Cream!
There will be plenty of gifts for Dad’s, and breakfast and lunch. Available from Professional Air, Leading Edge and High Desert Soaring Club are chances to take flight in airplanes, helicopters and gliders. Central Oregon Sky Sports will be demonstrating sky-diving and offering tandem jumps to those that sign up!If High Flying is not your thing there are several gift and shopping options for the whole family, including the innovative Hydro Flask water bottles. Enter the raffle to win a Golf Weekend from Brasada Ranch, challenge Dad to enter the Kendama competition, or stop by Grant’s Pals booth for more unique gifts that last a lifetime – such as hand-crafted Aviator Grill Aprons, recycled Tyvac wallets, and plenty of gifts for the girls, too!
